DigitCore Library Inc. is a Canadian high-tech company founded by Dr. Y. Greg Hu, who pioneered a digital core workflow method using digital core images (Canadian Patent 2,516,872).

 

DigitCore Software was first developed for use by Dr. Hu's geological consulting firm, H & H Consulting Inc., and evolved through internal use by geologists doing core logging for clients at DigitCore’s sister company, Loring Tarcore Labs, starting in 2006.

 

Over time, when geologists from several of Canada’s largest oilsands producers visited the lab and watched the software being used internally to log cores, they quickly recognized how much time was being saved in making precise depth corrections, integrating wellbore data such as geophysical logs, and interpreting geological features directly from core images.

 

So they kept asking Greg for licenses of the software. And asking…

 

But that is only part of the story.

 

Greg also conceived the idea of building the first publicly accessible, online digital core images library with depth registrations, for geologists working in different Earth exploration fields around the world.

Our team is excited to introduce our two flagship products, DigitCore Software and the DigitCore Library, to geoscientists in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia, and elsewhere.
